dance, sing, floss and travel

I just wanted to take the time to share with everyone something very close to my heart. Anyone from Oh Canada is already VERY familiar with this brand that I am so very passionate about, and it is spreading its way to America the beautiful like wildfire. I have two words for you. lululemon athletica. The pants fit like a glove, they don't stretch out, AND they come in short and LONG for long-limbed creatures like myself. Lets just say i own more than one pair. The jackets are darling, the headbands assist in my face-washing, and i just cannot rave enough about the freakin PANTS. I promise you won't be disappointed if you decide to track down a lulu store and buy some of your very own. Although slightly pricey, they are worth every penny. www.lululemon.com

date nights.

Yesterday morning and most of the afternoon Greg had to work. I always get slightly bummed when he has to work on saturdays but I had little sister shell to play with so it wasn't so bad! We spent some money, and that makes any girl feel better. especially when this money is being spent at american apparel. so anyway, Gregory made it back home and greeted me with a big hug and kiss and asked if I would go on a date with him. I LOVE date nights, and I highly recommend setting aside time for you and your lover to do so. We went to Black Angus and each had a massive slab of beef, and chocolate cake to top it all off. We try to go on official dates at least once every couple of weeks. Again, I highly recommend this. So we were beat from his day of working, and my day of shopping and pretty much crashed right after we got home from dinner. He had this brilliant idea that he sleep on my side of the bed, and me on his. (we have set sides. me always on the right, him on the left. thats just how it is) so we decided to trade for the night. WELL...apparently the "wrong" side of the bed makes me mental. I remember dreaming a lot of gnarly dreams...and I woke up to Gregory (2:30am) saying "I'm lucky I'm in love with my bestfriend too!" I was SO confused because that song was just playing in my dream! (Lucky - Jason Mraz and Colbie Caillat) how could he possibly have heard that?? and then it hit me, my cheeks got red "WAS I JUST SINGING???" Greg started laughing and said that I was humming that song. I never talk or ANYTHING in my sleep! I was so embarrassed!! haha then, a couple hours later, I wake up to Greg talking to me again...He was saying something like "Nikki, what are you talking about? you're just dreaming!" AH jeez...are you KIDDING me?? He says I was going on about how he never ever called to make sure I was still alive. I'd had it. I got back into MY side of the bed and that is where I'll stay.
date night.

we played "stoplight photoshoot" on the drive home.

gregory was really into the song on the radio. probably Rihanna.

more of our photoshoot.

christmas in...september?

Anyone who knows me, knows that christmas is the highlight of my year. I start listening to Christmas music far before any other human known to man, and I start obsessing over the festivities at an abnormally early month in the year. This year I find it particularly difficult to focus on halloween and thanksgiving. I just keep skipping right the the details of my christmas. Where shall i put our little christmas tree in this new place? what scent of candles and home fragrances shall i buy? are we aloud to put lights outside? I just cant seem to get it out of my head, and I'm okay with that. It's my husband I'm concerned about. His love for Christmas isn't near the extent of mine, and i fear for his mental stability with me around these next few months. Greg and I went to Dave and Jackie's place a couple sunday's ago to play games, and they had Christmas music playing in the background. I was ecstatic to know that we have friends who understand my needs and share in my obsession. Greg wasn't nearly as excited. Hopefully someday he will learn to love it like I do.

home sweet home

The new, plain, very white apartment that Gregory and I recently moved into is finally our cozy little home. We are all settled and decorated...with the exception of paint in most rooms (we get to PAINT the WALLS! I was overjoyed when I heard this good news) and things like curtains (minor details, right?) everything has its place and it suits us well. We are thrilled to be living here and thought we'd share some pictures of our humble abode per request of out-of-town friends and loved ones. enjoy!

There's no place like home.

 Our livingroom

Cafe Nielsen. someday we'll need a diningroom.

we painted the walls ourselves.

bathroom...note the reading material on the back of the potty. "what's  your poo telling you?" it's a hit with our visitors and very educational.

Here is our office/art room/stephanie and michelle's room.

our bedroom.

and finally, the bathroom connected to our bedroom.

roses are red violets are blue sugar is sweet and so are you.

Here I thought I was making a healthy choice all this time. I always feel good knowing that Subway is a wonderfully healthy alternative to say... burger king for example. I know what I like, and Subway just so happens to have created a mouth-watering sandwich that is just so satisfying in every way possible.  The sweet onion chicken teriyaki on honey oat bread is a little piece of heaven in my simple world, and I refuse to let my newly gained knowledge effect my happiness. My deepest most sincere apologies if i ruin it for you with the information I'm about to share.

The sweet onion chicken teriyaki sub sandwich was named most unhealthy sandwich NOT only at Subway, but in America. I guess it's just packed with sugar. Is that not THE most preposterous news of your life? I was floored. So much for healthy choices.

On another unhealthy note...I also read about the Heath bar shake from Baskin Robbins (holy delicious!)  This Tasty little dessert is jam packed with over a days worth of calories (2,310 to be exact) and 3 days worth of fats and sugars. I stopped reading about health after this one. I just cant bear to feel guilty over these petty little things. bon appetite friends!
