you got me feelin like a child now...
last night for our anniversary, greg's parents babysat emmerson while greg and i got thai food. it's my new addiction. afterwards we went to cold stone for ice cream. greg got some delicious cheesecake concoction, and do you want to know what i got? cotton candy ice cream with twix bar mixed in it. as we were sitting at our little table enjoying our very different flavors of ice cream, it dawned on me of how immature my taste buds are. i looked at his nicely combined sweet cream ice cream and berries, and then i looked at my bright blue and brown mess and felt like a five year old. here i am celebrating 2 years of marriage, and i felt like i should be able to hold my fingers up to show how old i am...only i don't have enough fingers...which means i probably shouldn't be eating blue ice cream. to top it all off, while we were eating, party in the USA by miley cyrus came on. greg looked at me and was like "nik! it's your song!" and as i started bobbing my head and singing along, it confirmed my serious lack of adult behavior.

oh my.
yesterday sweet husband called to tell me that some lady was moving and wanted to give him a recliner and what he called a "dresser". he comes home with a rather large black leather bachelor pad looking chair that does NOT go with my decor, and a CLOSET. i'm not kidding. i'm talking one of THESE...
i don't know where in our tiny apartment he figured we could fit this insanely oversized piece of furniture, but it's here to stay. and now i've been racking my brain all day of ways to rearrange emmerson's bedroom.
as for the chair...we now have two recliners and a loveseat, all COMPETELY mismatched seating stuffed into our living space. ask me if i'm thrilled about that...
this man-chair is ruining my life. so is the "dresser".

he strikes again.
i've been meaning to share the latest gregisms with you all.
number one. "oh, i'll give her a piece of MY medicine"
confusing the two phrases "i'll give her a taste of my medicine" and "i'll give her a piece of my mind"
number two. while looking at sunglasses..."are these ones bisexual?"
bahaha!
and number 3: "why did she throw her under the boat like that?"
boat...bus... he was close. :)

baby bully.
we just got home from Utah where Emmerson was able to play with her little friends, Adalyn (8 months) and Ava (9 1/2 months). i became aware of what a little bully we have on our hands...it's not as if she's trying to be mean, she just gets overly excited to play. a lot of grabbing and a lot of squealing is just a bit much for some other little ones to handle...
please note, the orange thing in mid flight is definitely a pacifier. poor kid.
ava was a trooper at first...
until emmy tried to gouge her eyeballs out...
do not fret friends, ava learned that she was bigger and could fight back.
and looking back at old pictures...it was brought to my attention that Emmerson is used to playing with boys... exhibit a:
and exhibit b:i'll have to teach her to play nice with the girls, but i like that she is a tough cookie.
