weirdies.

emmerson and i went to the grocery store to buy sweet husband a pie for his birthday...emmy tends to get a lot of attention when we're out and she can really work it. friendly smiles and cute as can be. well today was no exception...but she attracted the weirdies. on our way in, an older gentlemen with an odd accent stopped to chat with her, and she fully went into her routine of a cute little shy look, then big happy smiles and chatter. he looked at me, his eyes got teary, as he told me how much he loved her. he probably told her he loved her 5 times...to the point where it got kind of weird. i smiled and nodded in an extremely awkward manner and quickly made my way into the store.

next up was a tall red headed lady with black eyeliner a little too far below her eyelids, strutting down the aisle emmy and i were in. she glanced over at my sweet girl, and came to an abrupt stop. she ooh'd and aah'd over my baby, and again emmerson put on the cute act. this lady was thrilled, as she said that most little ones cried at the sight of her red hair, although i'm fairly certain it was more because of the terrifying makeup. she gave me several tips on how to deal with children, after announcing the fact that she didn't have any of her own. emmy was still being sweet and this lady was eating it up, then her eyes got HUGE. she slowly looked to me and said "she's one of those babies i've been reading about! such a beautiful happy disposition...she's here to change the world! she was sent here with a purpose, and that's exactly what she's doing. the world has gone to shit and they've sent babies like her here to clean it up!!!"

really lady??? i mean REALLY?

....another awkward smile and walk away situation.

That's about all the human interaction i could take for one day.
