extrovert

Emmerson and i attended her toddler gym class yesterday morning at jw tumbles. they have a bunch of fun equipment for the little ones to play on and music blaring. Em loves it. they do have some structure, including circle time at the beginning and end to sing a couple of songs and do some exercises. Emmy thoroughly enjoys circle time. she waits until all her little friends are seated with their parents and then she bolts for the middle to be center of attention. she says "hi!" to everyone several times, then shows off some of her fanciest dance moves. the other momma's think she's hilarious, and i just sit there in awe of how outgoing she is. never in my life have i ever been quite like that. i really am glad that she didn't inherit my shy bones. i'm pretty sure Emmerson looks at life as her stage and everyone as her audience. what a little showgirl we have!

now every february you'll be my valentine, valentine...

five years ago, gregory john and i celebrated our very first valentine's day with a picnic at the beach. that was back before we were even officially boyfriend/girlfriend status.

obviously a lot has happened since then, and we thought it would be delightful to relive that first valentine's day we spent together. in fact, we decided we would do the same thing every five years from now on. we found a spot close to our original one and set up shop. we have come a long way, and it was a lovely valentine's day once again.

and lets not forget our little valentine...

hope you had a happy valentine's day, lovers!

?

on today's menu: a new gregism, and a phrase he created especially for me.

so you know those water park play areas where the water shoots up from the ground in a bunch of different places? we were talking about how great those are for little ones. gregory and michelle both agreed that they thoroughly enjoyed them when they were youngsters. gregory added "yeah i used to love to sit on those holes. water would shoot right up my butt like a catheter!" ...clearly he meant enema.

a few nights ago i told gregory i was going to make cookies, or something of that nature, and he looked me with pure joy in his eyes and said "you single my zest."

......huh?
yeah, i don't even know?

the fairly odd parents.

we were in arizona over the weekend visiting some of greg's family. aside from our nielsen three feeling ever so under the weather, it was a lovely trip. looking back at our pictures i was quickly reminded as to why my darling little one has some peculiar tendencies. her spastic outbursts, her exceptionally loud voice, her bizarre dance moves, her comical gibberish, her ridiculous facial expressions, her talent to entertain...she's learned from the best. even when we don't realize it, we are influencing this girl with everything we say and do. i can't help but love that fact that she's turning out to be every bit as weird as we are.

and as if that isn't enough, allow me to remind you of the men in her life...

yep, she's bound to be a little special! :)
